This reply is mainly for Asia,
I know it is a little late...sorry...but we have been in our suite since August and LOVE IT!!! It is soooo much bigger than we thought it would be, the closet door in the living room -we don't even notice!! We fit one large couch and a loveseat perfectly. If you are in the neighborhood and want to take a look feel free to knock on my door I can show you how we set it up and maybe that will help you with your furniture buying if you haven't bought any yet.
We are 4th floor #419.
Also, it looks a lot smaller when you do your walk through...we were pissed too!! Don't worry though we love it now and are really happy! We even fit a dresser at the end of our bed in the master with tons of room to walk by...which we didn't think was going to happen!
P.S join the facebook group-Mattamy summerside! |

Admiranda,
Thank you for your generous offer of a tour of your home! I move into my unit in December and will wait until I move in and get a feel for the place before purchasing any new furniture. Fortunately I'm in no rush to decorate and probably have more furniture than I need so it will be a matter of what stays and what goes.
Hope you're enjoying your unit! I know I'm looking forward to moving into mine!
By the way, any complaints about the elevator "ding" when it arrives on your floor or hallway noise from people waiting for the elevator? Just curious to know what I can expect!

Hi Asia,
Sorry I haven't been on here in a while! Are you moved in yet? We don't really notice the ding of the elevator but I think it is because of our layout the door is so far away from our living space!
I mentioned on another discussion topic - if you have gaping around your front door ( which we did ) we went to Lowe's and bought a thin weather stripping and that helped keep the light out~ |

Admiranda,
We're finally all moved in and I agree with you on the elevator ding noise. It's not that noticeable at all! The noise from the street is another matter though! I've seen several posts complaining about the quality of the windows when it comes to blocking out noise and while the noise is very loud, I'm not sure what can be done about it. I can't see Mattamy replacing the windows for a better quality.
I'm wondering if you've noticed the street noise coming through the ensuite bath fan? It's as though it funnels the noise straight into the bathroom! I have to close the ensuite door at night to keep from getting a street noise "stereo effect" between the window and the fan vent! I could go on to complain about the poor bathroom design that makes using the ensuite sink a pain when the bathroom door is open and the handle is poking you in the side, but I won't (even though I just did). |
